Shelagh Atkinson

Shelagh Atkinson - Ian Hamilton Finlay (photosilkscreen)

“Using her memory to develop the image, the creative process of transferring onto silkscreen produces something unique.”

Edinburgh based Shelagh Atkinson is a printmaker and painter who continually explores and develops her unique style of “communications in print, ink on paper and canvas.”

Using Shelagh’s selection of eight works from her “About Face” series, MBS produced a charming and unassuming A6 size artist book. The book has a feeling of easy familiarity whilst the works themselves are extraordinary – two works from the series; Mick McGaghey (non-etch intaglio print) and Sally Beamish (photosilkscreen) are held in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection with an edition of the Mick print also in the collection of the National Museum of Scotland.
