Shelagh Atkinson

Edinburgh based Shelagh Atkinson is a printmaker and painter who continually explores and develops her unique style of “communications in print, ink on paper and canvas.”

Using Shelagh’s selection of eight works from her “About Face” print series, MBS produced an unassuming A6 size artist book. The book has a feeling of easy familiarity whilst the works themselves are extraordinary. Two works from the series, Mick McGaghey (non-etch intaglio print) and Sally Beamish (photosilkscreen) are held in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection with an edition of the Mick print also in the collection of the National Museum of Scotland.

“Margaret knew exactly what to do in terms of setting-up the pages for print production, and for me the book is a little treasure.”
